Dalarna University is a small, modern university located in the beautiful province of Dalarna in central Sweden. The provincial landscape offers wonderful opportunities for exploration in stunning natural surroundings. The university has two campuses in small towns Falun and Borlänge. Small towns mean close proximity from the campus to outdoor activities, cafés, shopping, and student housing.
Dalarna University's education is based on research gained through strong ties with regional business and industry to ensure that education meets real-world needs. Small class sizes at the university ensure closeness in terms of contact with fellow students and teachers. The university also delivers many courses online in real-time, the university being nationally recognised as a pioneer in this field, with its well-established Next Generation Learning Centre (NGL-C).
Each year, the university has close to 400 international students from over 50 countries enrolled to study on campus.

Scholarships & funding
Every year, Dalarna University awards partial scholarships to a number of its new international, fee-paying Master's students who have proven themselves to be outstanding in their educational endeavours. Our scholarships go directly towards a reduction in your tuition fees and will cover between 10 and 50 percent of your total tuition fees.

Campuses
Dalarna University has two campuses located in central Sweden, respectively in Borlänge and Falun. Campus Borlänge and Campus Falun are located about 40 minutes by bus from each other.
- Campus Borlänge is located next to Kupolen and Norra Backa, Dalarna’s largest indoor and outdoor shopping districts, where you can find restaurants, coffee houses, novelty stores, and well-known clothing outlets, as well as IKEA.
- Campus Falun is located about a 15-minute walk from central Falun. It is close to the Lugnet Nature Reserve and a wide range of sporting facilities. Both campuses have a library, computer labs and wifi, cafés, kitchen facilities, meeting rooms, and study rooms. Most of our English programmes are taught in Borlänge.
Student lifestyle
Centrally located in Sweden, Dalarna has much to offer. Its cultural heritage is vast, its history ancient. Its nature is both wild and abundant, its seasons both dramatic and defined. Our international students most enjoy the immediate access to nature and outdoor adventure while frequently commenting on the unique experience studying in a small town provides.
Accommodation
Tunabyggen in Borlänge and Kopparstaden in Falun supply students with accommodation in collaboration with Dalarna University. Both offer housing that is close to campus, often no more than a 20-minute walk to both campus and downtown. Different student accommodation options are available, from corridor-style student rooms to apartments.
