Harper College, one of the United States’ premier community colleges, is located in the northwest suburbs just 30 miles (48 km) northwest of Chicago, Illinois.
Harper offers more than 50 fields of study and more than 450 popular general education classes, which can be applied toward a bachelor’s degree. Students at Harper earn the first two years of a bachelor’s degree for a fraction of the cost compared to four-year schools. After earning an associate degree, Harper helps students transfer credits to the four-year institution of their choice through partnerships with hundreds of prestigious universities.

Many of our classes have smaller class sizes (less than 30 students) than our 4-year counterparts, so our students have more personalized interactions with their instructors.
Harper has a robust transfer program, with several different options for transferring credits to four-year universities in the US. These include transfer-ready programs, dual degree programs, and 2+2 agreements with universities.

Harper Academic Support Center
The Harper Academic Support Center includes a writing center to help students with writing assignments, success services to help build skills to help navigate the college environment, supplemental instruction, an anatomy room, and on-campus and online tutoring.
Health and Recreation Center
The college’s Health and Recreation Center has a state-of-the-art gym and includes provides a number of Wellness programs and events for students, including free fitness classes and a well-being social hour.

Harper College has a vibrant and active International Student Club. The International Student Club is a robust student organization open to any Harper College student. The Club meets weekly throughout the academic year and offers a dynamic platform for students from across the globe to meet, get to know each other, share their experiences, and forge intercultural friendships.

Harper College is located close to the city of Chicago, which has a large number of world-class institutions and museums, including the Field Museum, the Adler Planetarium, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Shedd Aquarium, the Lincoln Park Zoo and Conservatory, the DuSable Museum of African American History, and a number of architectural highlights.
