Bachelor of Business (Food Entrepreneurship)

Are you a foodie? Do you dream of creating and managing your own food business?

This Bachelor of Business (Food Entrepreneurship) programme from Le Cordon Bleu can help you reach your dream career. During this three year degree in Adelaide, students will learn all of the food business management skills, and be able to partake in two six month placements in food-related businesses. 

Over the course, participants will study:

  • Gain a better understanding of food culture, food and drink pairing, food production and merchandising, as well as important skills like leadership, management and ethical business practises.
  • Undertake practical sessions in cheese and bread-making, confectionary and chocolate work, smallgoods production and small batch brewing.
  • Classes are conducted by award-winning producers and experienced academic staff
  • Students participate in hands-on workshops and industry networking opportunities with local food producers

The programme is made up of five stages:

  1. On-campus modules (6 months)
  2. Professional Experience 1 (6 months)
  3. On-campus modules (6 months)
  4. Professional Experience 2 (6 months)
  5. On-campus modules (6 months)

Admission requirements

Le Cordon Bleu’s Bachelor of Business (Food Entrepreneurship) offers budding food entrepreneurs the relevant training to gain a better understanding of food culture, food and beer production as well as skills in how to develop innovative and profitable business concepts, write a business plan and market your venture to the right target audience.

This course is ideal for:

  • School leavers keen to explore their passion for food, flavour and quality as well as develop a career in the food industry
  • Students who want to study a business degree with a difference
  • Individuals keen to explore an innovative idea for a food business but want to gain more knowledge about food and business management in order to launch their own business
  • People who work in their family food businesses and want to gain the leadership and business management skills to be able to take over the family business
  • Students who have completed a Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery or Patisserie and now want to gain marketing, merchandising and business management skills to prepare to open their own food business 

Duration: 3 Years (Full-Time, includes 2 x 6 month work placements)
English proficiency: 6.0 Academic IELTS with no band score below 5.5.
Entry requirements: Satisfactory completion of Year 12 or equivalent interstate/overseas secondary education is required. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age when the course commences. All direct entry Stage 3 students must undertake the one week Le Cordon Bleu Bridging Course offered immediately before the commencement of each semester.

Tuition fees

AU$82,551 for international students. AU$79,376 for Australian students.


Students who successfully complete this degree will graduate with an internationally recognised Le Cordon Bleu Bachelor of Business (Food Entrepreneurship) qualification authorised by Le Cordon Bleu La Fondation.

Upon graduation you are eligible to become an alumnus of Le Cordon Bleu. This includes access to a global network of alumni and career opportunities via the alumni portals and social media networks. Assistance is provided in regards to career preparation however Le Cordon Bleu will not be responsible for job placement upon graduation.

Career opportunities

Graduates of this programme will have essential design, marketing and business management skills as well as one year of industry experience. They will have developed their sensory skills and their knowledge of food quality and production.

Graduates from this programme will work in food design and innovation, product development, food consultancy, food retail/wholesale, food marketing/ branding/ communication, small business management, import/ export and tourism.
