About this program

Programme highlights

Deliver authentic indigenous experiences and other tourism ventures locally, nationally and globally.

You’ll develop an increased understanding of Māori culture and identity as well as explore how your own cultural traditions and identity add to a broader appreciation of diversity to enable you to provide a unique visitor experience.

Gain a strong grounding in hands-on practical business practices such as effective communication skills, use of digital technologies, event and destination management. Another area of value is participating in various site visits, field trips, marae experiences, coastal walks, and heritage or forest trails that have great cultural significance.

This blend of understanding Te Ao Māori, one’s own cultural identity, and 21st century business skills will prepare you well to meet the growing demand for people able to provide high-quality indigenous experiences for visitors to Aotearoa, New Zealand.
