Northumbria University, Newcastle is a research-rich, business-focused, professional university with a global reputation for academic excellence and is one of the largest universities in the UK with almost 34,000 students.

Students have recognised our commitment to transforming the student experience by ranking us top 20 in the UK for student experience in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2015-16, as well as 3rd in the UK for international student satisfaction in the International Student Barometer summer survey 2015. Building on the £200 million invested in its City and Coach Lane campuses over the last ten years, the University is now planning a number of major projects to transform the experience it provides to students studying at its City Campus, with an announcement of a further £52 million investment. There will be a new student central zone as well two new state-of-the-art buildings for students on computing and information sciences and architecture and built environment courses. This includes significant investment in new technologies including a wind tunnel, an engine test cell facility, 3D printers and a scanning electron microscope.

Northumbria is proud to have been awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education for the work of its Student Law Office; the highest form of national recognition open to a UK academic or vocational institution.

As well as the outstanding work of our Student Law Office, Newcastle Business School has joined the top 1% of business schools worldwide by gaining double accreditation from AACSB; an international hallmark of excellence. Newcastle Business School has also been named the UK’s Business School of the Year by the Times Higher Education magazine.
