About this program
Master in Sustainable Tourism Management
The Master in Sustainable Tourism Management is divided into two sections. During the first section students will obtain theoretical, technical, and practical units that will prepare them to develop sustainable and integrated tourism management resources. In the section, students will develop applied research or technical/practical work that is integrated into companies.
This program is designed to train students to perform tasks in diverse branches of tourism, in both the private and public sectors. Upon completion of this program, graduates will:
- Develop advanced knowledge about the various disciplines that make up the course
- Adapt the concepts and principles underlying management and sustainability in tourism
- Know the human impacts on tourist systems and be able to find effective solutions
- Be able to investigate problems and suggest solutions for sustainability and management
- Reach research ability, critical analysis of information, and scientific and technical dissemination
- Understand and apply the techniques of scientific research, develop personal and professional skills that enable them to lead or join work teams
- Acquire the skills needed to integrate doctoral or similar programs in related areas
Admission requirements
Eligible applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Hold a degree or legal equivalent in the areas of Tourism, Management, and related areas
- Hold a foreign academic degree following the 1st cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna process in the area of Tourism, Management, and related areas
- Hold a foreign degree that is recognized as meeting the objectives of a degree by the Scientific-Technical Council of ESTM in the areas of Tourism, Management, and related areas
- Hold an academic, scientific, or professional curricula who is recognized as attesting the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies by the Scientific-Technical Council of ESTM
