Ryerson University

At Ryerson University we're dedicated to creating a culture of action. We believe that education and experience go hand-in-hand. What our students learn in the classroom is enhanced by real-world knowledge through internships and co-ops, or amplified through zone learning, specialized minors and graduate programs.

Ryerson University was founded in 1948 as Ryerson Institute of Technology. Ryerson University’s history is rooted in innovative, career-driven education with the goal of addressing contemporary societal needs. Named after Ontario’s first Superintendent of Education and leading public school advocate, Egerton Ryerson, it began as a postsecondary institute designed to combine technical education with academic theory for the first time.

International Services for Students

At Ryerson University, International Services for Students (ISS) strives to offer comprehensive support services to all registered international students and promote international awareness to the Ryerson Community. The university is located in the heart of Toronto, Canada, the fourth largest city in North America. Here, students can connect with leaders in culture, business, health care or government because opportunity lives at the front door.

MOVE Everywhere

The long awaited return of the RAC is here with renewed spaces and a full range of in-person programs - from Group Fitness to Intramurals to Drop-in Sports - to complement the experience at MAC, we can't wait to welcome you back. Safety remains our top priority, followed closely by our commitment to supporting our students' wellbeing and academic achievement.

As before, our programs will continue to operate in 3 modes to keep you moving wherever you are and whatever your comfort level - at Ryerson, in your neighborhood and online - and we've continued to gather them all in our MOVE Everywhere hub, sorted by where they take place.

Accommodation

Residence is an inclusive community. All-gender housing means that you only need to disclose your gender should you wish to be matched with a roommate or suitemate of the same gender identity as yours.

HOEM is owned and managed by Ryerson’s close partner, Canadian Student Communities Inc (“HOEM”).  All administrative aspects and decision making regarding your stay at HOEM, including the terms of the contract such as withdrawals, applications, and fee collection are managed through thestaff on site at HOEM.

The residence life and service desk teams, which are largely made up of students who work as amazing leaders to welcome and support you throughout the year will also be managed and operated by HOEM. Many of them will be living in the building, alongside you, as you navigate your time at the HOEM residence.
