This bachelor in event and leisure management teaches you the essentials of management and economics in order for you to analyze events. You'll learn the basic principles of organizing events, enabling you to take your first steps in organizing and producing events professionally.
The focus of the program is on sports as well as cultural events. You'll gain the skills to manage the finances of the company or a particular project. Students will develop skills in media and communication, and learn the importance of building and maintaining a good rapport with journalists.
The final years of this program will center on the of planning and organizing of corporate events – be it international trade fairs, congresses, small conferences, or promotional events. An emphasis will be placed on the management of events in cultural contexts. Students will observe and analyze global processes and their influence on the field of tourism and events.
Graduates of this event and leisure management program will have knowledge and experience in organizing, producing and planning large scale events such as sports, corporate, music festivals, weddings and other celebrations, and promotional events. An internship – in Latvian or foreign event management companies or tourism and hospitality enterprises organizing and producing events each study year.
Applicants wishing to apply for this program should meet the following requirements:
- Previous education- Secondary school
- Entrance exams in Social Sciences
- English proficiency test with IELTS (6.0) or TOEFL (IBT 70)
