Admission requirements
Applicants wishing to enter the tourism program should meet the following requirements:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma from a university or university of applied sciences
- Documented academic knowledge of business administration
- Letter of motivation
- English certificate: C1, TOEFL (IB:95), IELTS (6.5)
- Formal admission interview with the Director of Studies

Program content
Core subjects
The Master of Science in Business Administration Major Tourism comprises four main module categories:
- Major Tourism
- General Management
- Research Methodology
- Research projects
Students will complete their studies at the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons with a master thesis. The thesis is an independent academic project, although students receive support from an advisor at the university. Topics are either linked to the research undertaken at the institute, have been provided by external clients or evolve from the interests of the students.
The master thesis provides you with the opportunity to create a distinctive profile for yourself and may thus facilitate entry to a demanding management level position in the tourism industry.
Tuition
Students from Switzerland or Liechtenstein (Residence of at least 2 years prior to the start of the programme):
- Tuition per semester: CHF 960.-
- Application fee*: CHF 300.-
Students from EU and EFTA Countries:
- Tuition per semester: CHF 1'550.-
- Application fee*: CHF 300.-
The local administrative district allows employment up to a maximum of 15 hours per week when in possession of a specific permit and 42 hours per week during the holidays.
*The application fee is charged upon confirmation of a study place and is non-refundable. The application fee will be deduced from the first semester tuition fee.
Students from non-EU and non-EFTA Countries:
- Tuition per semester: CHF 1'550.-
- Application fee: CHF 300.-
- Deposit: CHF 3'000.-
The local administration prohibits all forms of employment for students from non-EU and non-EFTA countries. The application fee is CHF 300.– and is due upon confirmation of a study place and is non-refundable if our offer is not accepted. The application fee will be deducted from the tuition fee. A deposit of CHF 3 000.- will be refunded at the end of the programme if all bills are paid. Based on a bank receipt and a guarantee of sufficient means for the costs of living to the amount of CHF 12 000, the visa process can be started.
The study fees do not include textbooks, study materials, and fees associated with thesis writing, block weeks, and excursions, e.g. travel and accommodation. Students must possess a laptop.
