Come to the University of Northampton and you will see that we do things a bit differently.
Education has an extensive history in Northampton dating back to the 13th century whilst the University of Northampton has evolved from the beginning of the 20th century. We are one of the youngest universities in the UK but we are already leading the way in adding value to society, which we call social impact. We have won multiple awards for our work in this area, among others, but what matters the most to us is ensuring that our students and graduates have the opportunity to make their mark on the world too. That’s why we were the first university in the UK to be named as a Changemaker Campus in 2012.
We want to break the mould of what Higher Education can be. This has led us to build a whole new University from the ground up that is designed to reflect the way that you actually learn rather than the way you are expected to learn. Waterside Campus opened in September 2018.

At Northampton Students’ Union we know that choosing your university and starting university life are big steps. We’re here and ready to adventure with you! When you join the university, you automatically become a member of the Students’ Union and it’s completely free. You have access to all that we do and are given the chance to make the most of your time at the University of Northampton.
Accommodation
At the University of Northampton, we offer a range of options when it comes to accommodation for students, including halls of residence and privately-owned housing. We have a selection of university accommodation available at Waterside Campus, in the Town Centre and at Scholars Green Student Village.
We offer single and twin rooms with shared bathrooms or en-suites, complete with halls facilities and accommodation services.The rooms are all equipped with network access and WiFi, as well as 24-hour security and a dedicated support team.
