The Foundation Course
A one-year programme taught exclusively in English, which bridges the gap between High School and University studies and it equips students with the appropriate academic grounding for an Italian degree at the University of Pisa.This programme is aimed at International students who have 11 or 10 years of schooling and have successfully completed High School and at American students who have not taken Advanced Placement (AP) courses during the last year of High School nor have attended 2 years of College
Summer Schools
Intensive academic courses for international students and also for graduates.They mostly last from 1 to 6 weeks and take place in an international context, with students and lecturers coming from various parts of the world and all lectures delivered in English.They are characterized by nonconventional teaching formats (workshops, tutorials, excursions, cultural events, business testimonials, etc.) and a multidisciplinary approach. Professors are experts in their areas and have a keen interest in what they do.Summer Schools meet strict academic regulations: each grants at least 3 ECTS credits and the participants who successfully pass the final exams will receive an official academic transcript.

Our students can benefit of many cultural and social events. There are 40 University students associations, which organize many activities and events, increasing the wide offer of entertainments of Pisa.
Accommodation
The University of Pisa is not a campus-based university and instead has its buildings and departments spread throughout the city. In terms of accommodation, students usually find housing through the city's many estate agents or by checking out postings placed on notice boards in each of the University's departments.
Students often share an apartment with other Italian or international students. The cost of renting a room is roughly 250.00/350.00 euros per month excluding the cost of utilities and the individual share of general expenses for the building's maintenance.
In addition to this, students and guests of the University of Pisa are now able to benefit from a series of discounts and promotions on accommodation prices, thanks to a number of agreements made by the University with various housing facilities in the city. Special rates are offered by Residence Le Benedettine, the hotel Abitalia Tower Plaza and the Residence San Rossore.Amongst the numerous other facilities in Pisa, University students and guests can also find rooms at Hostel Pisa Villa Giulia, at Residence Tulipan and at the Pensionato Universitario "Giuseppe Toniolo".
