The Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Salerno (UNISA) offers an international masters program in food engineering, which is instructed in English.
The master degree program in food engineering is a two-year program which provides you with a masters degree compliant with the European standards of education. The program and the degree are Eur-Ace ENAEE certified.
The international masters in food engineering is designed to educate engineers and scientists in several aspects of food engineering and food processing and to give professional skills in plant design, optimization and innovation of products and processes of the food industry.
The food engineering masters program aims to create highly scientific technicians with the ability to apply their knowledge to processes in the food industry. Students may choose to pursue a double major with the University Corvinus of Budapest (HU).
The curriculum in food engineering covers:
- Methodological instruments of engineering
- Bases of relevant scientific methodologies: food chemistry, microbiology and food technology
- Knowledge of food processes and products
Graduates of of this program will be capable of planning and management of food process systems and services, designing, installing and testing of equipments, systems and food processes, the use of computational techniques and modeling to verify proper operation or to design equipment, and systems or processes of food engineering. Potential jobs include work in areas such as food production and packaging, in food retail and commerce, and in food health and safety.
