Tourism Management (BA)
The program has a longstanding industry reputation with nearly 30 years experience offering tourism-related programs and industry placements.
Student’s learning will focus from the outset on developing their professional skills, management understanding and academic knowledge in order to prepare them for a successful career in the Tourism Industry. This will include studying in-depth topics relating to Guest Service Excellence, Marketing and Social Media, Ethics and Sustainability, Heritage and Attraction Management.
The students benefit from a close relationship with alumni, many of whom have highly successful careers in the industry & regularly return to network & share their experiences with current students. This is supported by close industry links including the opportunity to regularly undertake field study trips, behind the scenes industry visits and networking opportunities within the tourism industry in Wales and internationally.
During their studies, students all take part in integral paid placements within the tourism industry in Wales, the UK or overseas. This provides an important opportunity to apply theory to workplace issues and strategically discuss solutions for work-based problems in the lecture theatre, as well as professionally preparing students for their future careers.
