Vatel is officially the first group of hotel management schools in the world, having opened in Paris in 1981. Since then, Vatel has grown enormously - today 7,000 students attend 30 Vatel schools in 21 countries. These hotel management schools are internationally known for preparing students to excel in tourism and hotel management positions. Vatel schools have developed a strong network of over 25,000 alumni over the years, facilitating students' abilities to get internships and employment in reputed hotel chains throughout the world.

Vatel Switzerland opened in 2010 and offers hospitality education courses with academically challenging curriculums combining theoretical classes and practical training. Vatel Switzerland is so far the only hotel management school in Switzerland to possess its own 4-star training hotel open all year with 111 rooms, a fine-dining restaurant, and a congress and conference center with a capacity of 400 clients with 2 translating booths allowing simultaneous conferences in various languages.

Vatel Switzerland offers a Master in HR Management & Training, as it strongly believes this will be the major challenge for upcoming managers in this field. In 2013, Vatel Switzerland offers seven masters specialisations with selection limited to 400 students on campus to guarantee a personalized approach to tuition.
