Do you want to develop your culinary skills and expertise to reflect contemporary trends and include innovative culinary techniques?
Combining academic and practical work, you will study the science behind food in Westminster Kingsway College's Culinary Science Laboratory. Modules include Practical Cooking Techniques in Culinary Arts, Food Production and Safety, Marketing and Food Product Design, Gastronomy and Innovation, Human Resource Management, Introduction to Culinary Science, Introduction to Finance and Information Systems, Practical Scientific Techniques in Culinary Arts, Introduction to Culinary Science and Research Methods.
As well as developing your employability skills, you will learn from our network of employers and industry advisors, including a programme of visiting speakers/demonstrators. You will explore potential career opportunities in menu development, product design and gastronomy.
The course is particularly beneficial for those aspiring to specialist senior positions in advanced craft and/or food development.
The day-release option enables you to study for a degree whilst maintaining full-time employment within the hospitality industry.
