The practical focus of this degree will increase your chances of employment when you graduate, and the small class sizes will help you to build strong one-on-one learning relationships with your tutors.​ The flexible structure allows you to choose from a range of majors and a wide variety of elective modules.

You can study this programme full-time or part-time to fit around your family, life and work commitments.

What You'll Learn

In your first year you will study eight compulsory modules, giving you a strong understanding across business management before you specialise in your second and third years. All students in their final year of study will complete the Cooperative Education Project (CEP). This gives you an opportunity to be placed in industry, gain valuable work experience and complete an agreed piece of research, increasing the chances of employment when you graduate.

In your second year you will study three modules specific to your major and a further three which could either contribute to a second major, or be elective modules based on your areas of interest. You will also take the Applied Management and Research Methodology core modules.

In your final year, you will complete the Cooperative Education Project (CEP). You will be placed in industry, gain valuable work experience and complete an agreed piece of research, increasing your chances of employment when you graduate.

Whether you choose one or two majors, if you study full-time, you'll still be able to complete your degree in three years.

Major in Event Management

With this major, you’ll gain specialist skills in event management that will open event industry doors and career opportunities on both the domestic and international markets. You’ll understand the challenges the event industry faces in today’s world. Your leadership and team management potential will be enhanced by your analytical skills, operational and strategic thinking for delivery of events, and event industry will benefit from your expertise.

What you'll study

In your first year, you'll complete the eight core modules required for this Applied Management degree. These will give you the important broad skills you'll need to excel in any area of business. For your second year you'll take three courses for your Event Management major, choose three other courses, which can be toward a second major, as well as two more core modules – Applied Management and Research Methodology. In your third year you'll study two more Event Management courses and two other courses toward your second major. You'll also apply your skill on work placement with a local business.
